Bio
Amy Trager's interest in organization began early in her college years helping friends and relatives organize their lives and spaces. After discovering this passion, Amy completed a custom curriculum at Bradley University that included independent courses related to organizing.
As part of this curriculum, she presented a research project, "Study of/Research and Analysis of Professional Organizing" at the Bradley's Annual Research Expo. Amy then graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences. She also completed NAPO education courses to further her knowledge and interest in the organizing profession.
Amy started working with her own clients in January of 2006, in homes and offices. Ever since, she has enjoyed helping each house and business and those within sort through their papers and kitchens, and even the attic!
Amy is honored to say that she was part of the inaugural class of Certified Professional Organizers. In April 2007, Amy sat for the first ever certification exam for Professional Organizers. Only about 250 people were accepted to sit for this first exam, with only a dozen Illinois participants being certified.
Amy is currently both a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) and is the president of their Chicago, Illinois Chapter. She served as the secretary for three years prior to her presidency. As of May 2008, Amy is proud to be a Golden Circle member of NAPO. She is also the former Chair of the NAPO Higher Education Taskforce.
In her personal life, Amy enjoys baking, and traveling.
